Quality alloys, safe environment: Our commitment to REACH and RoHS compliance
We guarantee that our aluminium alloys are supplied in compliance with the REACH Regulation and the RoHS Directive.
REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006
On June 1, 2007, the REACH regulation entered into force throughout the EU. The purpose of the regulation is to ensure a high level of protection for man and the environment against accidental exposure to chemical substances.
The main chemical substances encountered in daily life must be registered by the manufacturer and/or importer. This registration will ensure that documentation is drawn up for the effects of the substance on man and the environment.
Waste and products from waste need not be recorded if the recycling takes place within the EU and substances derived from the recycling process is the same as those that went into the process. Ultimately, the substances must be registered in advance in accordance with the requirements of the Regulation.
This means that the aluminium alloys produced through recycling do not need to be registered. As a manufacturer of these alloys, Stena Aluminium ensures Stena Aluminium that substances in our alloys are registered.
